Aerobic Endurance Training

What it is: Endurance Training is both an educational program as well as physical training. Each participant receives a training program specific to their fitness level and goals. You will have a personal coach while participating within a group. Training is for all abilities of participants who are determined and serious about improving, from ANY starting point. It is organized and structured for all levels from the walker/beginner runner who wants to learn to run and build up safely, to the experienced runner with performance time goals. It is group training but is individualized to meet your specific needs as your body changes week to week.

What we do: We train to achieve a goal of completing an event, any walk/run event from 5k (3.1 miles) up to half marathon distance (13.1 miles), as well as duathlons. Registering for an event is an important ingredient of your success in this program. You select the event date, the distance, the location of the event. We'll help you train to achieve your goal. Not sure about which event to choose? Join us and find out what other participants are signing up for. Then train together with professional guidance.

How we do it: Your goal event dates and distances are recorded within the length of the program. Next, your Sunday workouts are mapped out for you then adjusted weekly as you complete each run.

Each workout begins with a brief educational training topic or a focus tip to work on during your run. Topics include pacing strategies, injury prevention, sports nutrition, mental training, strength training, proper footwear and more.  Then receive your personalized workout; map with mile markers, written directions, your specific distance for that day, and your prescribed pacing along the course or walk/run ratios, building gradually week by week. Workouts may include lactate threshold, "cruise" intervals or speed segments depending on ability.

Before your run, loosen up in a pre-run warm-up targeting runner's typically tight areas to help prepare for your run. Then depart for your running experience. Participants will depart together and then will group up by pace and split up by distance. There are several different distances mapped out each weekend from a two mile loop on up. Courses can be out and back or loops and all have short cuts if needed. Enjoy post-run strength exercises, foam roll your muscles, and then relax in the stretch room to unwind and increase flexibility. Our runners also receive personal tips to improve form and gait, and corrective exercises to reduce chance of injury and keep you running strong throughout your training season.

Where we do it: We start and end at In-Training San Ramon. Run routes alternate from flat to rolling hills, on local bike paths, side walks, through many beautiful parks in San Ramon, Danville, Alamo and Dublin.

This is sure to be your ultimate training experience.
